Onehub provides a powerful solution for sharing information between you and your clients, as well as within your company. But what about the latter? Inviting all of your internal employees to every Hub can be difficult to manage, and what if you want to allow others to create Hubs on the account, or manage the account settings? That’s where inviting them as an account user comes in.

Under the Account tab is an area called Manage Users. This is where you can invite people to join your company’s account. The process is very similar to inviting users to a hub with some slight differences when it comes to roles.

Account Roles

  • Account Reader

An Account Reader has Reader access to all Hubs owned by an account and is not allowed to create Hubs.

  • Account Contributor

An Account User has Contributor access to all Hubs owned by an account and is able to create Hubs.

  • Account Administrator

An Account Administrator has Administrator access to all Hubs owned by an account, and can manage all aspects of an account and its hubs. They can add and remove administrators, manage billing information, and set user privileges.

  • Account Member

An Account Member has no default access to any Hubs owned by an account and is not allowed to create Hubs. You may manage an Account Member’s access on a Hub-by-Hub basis.

Inviting Account Users

To invite a user to your account, just click the “Add Users” button. From here all you need is to enter their email, name, and select their role on the account. Note that a user can only be a member of one account at a time.

As soon as they have been invited, you can start customizing their hub access. Just click the Customize link to the right of their account role in the list. Just pick and choose their role in each Hub and save.

Keep in mind that a user’s minimum role will always supersede a lower one that may have been set. For instance, an Account Contributor will be a contributor in a hub even if you set them to reader. If you want full flexibility with regard to an account user’s hub role/access, make them an Account Member so they have no access by default.

That’s it. Once they accept the invitation, they will join the account and gain access to the account Hubs they have roles in.

Once last thing to note is that If the person you are inviting to the account is already a free Onehub user (not a 30 day free trial user), their one free hub will become part of the account when they accept the invitation.
