Our load balancer would throw a 502 (Bad Gateway) when it determined that the backends were not responsive enough. Though I like your suggestion to trap and send the user to a specific 503 error page, at the moment they would see a 'generic' (all 5xx errors) page.

Great feature, makes it easy to find specific files quickly, especially when it's been a few weeks since you last looked at the file library.

But, how you distinguish a "real" 503 error? When the system's overload causes a 503 error, your config will redirect to the maintenance page, which doesn't exists.

Maybe something like this?:

    if (-f $document_root/system/maintenance.html) {
      rewrite ^(.*)$ /system/maintenance.html break;
    }
    rewrite ^(.*)$ /503.html break;

I like this feature very much. Just a suggestion, it would make this already great feature even more useful if there were RSS feeds for filtered categories. For example, I rarely care about anything except for the "Create" type activity, and I think most people would prefer to only see that in a feed. Having the ability to link to feeds on activity filters would allow for that. Thanks again!

I love this. Nginx makes it so easy to implement something like this. Very cool.
