You can now add video to your Hubs with the Onehub Video Widget. The new Widget allows you to embed videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and Viddler and provides a fast, easy way to integrate video into your Hubs.

How it Works

First, upload your video to YouTube, Vimeo or Viddler. Then, add a video widget to your Hub by clicking on Design & Add Widgets at the top of the Hub. Choose the column you want to add video to and click Add Widgets. Select the Video Widget from the bottom of the Widget list to bring up the Add a Video window.

In the Add a Video window, enter a title and optional description for your video and copy-and-paste the embed code from the video service you are using. You can choose to hide both the title and description if you only want to show the video.

The embed code should look similar to the following:

Where you find the embed code depends on the video service you are embedding video from. For YouTube, click the video you want to embed, and then select and copy the Embed code from the right column of the page.

When you are finished, click Save. You can move the location of the Video Widget by clicking the title area and dragging to a new location. You do not need to change the width and height of your embed code, we will make sure the Video Widget displays at the optimal size based on the page layout and column width.

The Video Widget will look like the following screen shot:

What’s next for the Video Widget?

We are adding support to upload a video directly to Onehub. We will then encode the video to the popular Flash video format to display in virtually any browser. This feature will be available in late January. Stay tuned.
